Junior Leadership Academic Bowl is split into two teams: the Leadership team and the Academic team. Each team is made up of four primary Cadets and two alternates

The Leadership team is tested on all JROTC knowledge, ranging from Unit 1 through 5 of the JROTC curriculum. Team members must be 8th through 11th grade.

The Academic team is tested on math science, language arts, financial literacy, college entrance, and current events. Team members can only be sophomores and juniors.
